Our flag respected

In: Rotary Club of Manila. The Rotary Balita No. 600 to 623Summary: From the first meeting presided over by President Emy, the Philippine Flag is appropriately respected by all standing while Prof. Carluen played our National Hymn. Although we have many nationalities in our Club, we all love and honor the Philippine Flag. Especially by our American members is it respected, because it is emblematic of the same virtues and principles as the Stars and Stripes. Acknowledgment of thanks to: Gary Yupangco for buying on his own account the gifts given to Miss Luz Morales, the singer, and to Prof. Bienvenido Conti, violinist, participants in the special musical numbers at Rotary's luncheon meeting of July 22nd. Gil and Gene Puyat for donating to the club a plywood box now known as the "SUGGESTION BOX". Congratulations to Cebu The Cebu Rotary Club was awarded the TROPHY FOR BEST ATTENDANCE FOR 1947-1948 for the 81st Rotary District. Davao Provides Student Loan Fund The Davao Rotary Club has set up a fund to provide loans to deserving students in the Mindanao Colleges and other schools of the city. Since of course it is expected that loans be repaid, this fund will be a continual source of benefit not only now but in years to come. "Lag" Lagdameo is chairman of the fund. Father and Sons Days Rotarian Edward A. Grey of Lincoln, California, U.S.A., member of his club since its organization in 1925, has never missed a meeting of his club, and his three sons are members of the club-a record to be proud of!
