The Philippine Constitution mandates the State to adopt an integrated and comprehensive approach to health development, which shall endeavor to make health and other social services available to all. Undeniably, a nation's economic growth and the health of its citizens are intertwined. This means that the improved health of a country's population indubitably impacts its economic development. With this, what is Congress currently doing in the pursuit of rational and responsive health policies? What laws are being studied and crafted to fully and truly recognize and protect every Filipino's fundamental right to health? What is our lawmakers' view of the current state of the country's public health system?
