<br/><br/> The main features of today’s Rotary meeting were the presentation of the Heilbronn Memorial Rostrum of Mrs. Charlotte Ellen Heilbronn to the Manila Rotary Club and the awarding of the President’s Cup to the most outstanding Rotarian of the year - Ramon Ordoveza.  In simple but impressive ceremonies, the Heilbronn Memorial Rostrum donated to the Manila Club by Mrs. Heilbronn, now residing at San Francisco, California, was gratefully received. This rostrum comes as a gift for the second time, the original rostrum having been presented to the Rotarians on June 30, 1940 but was destroyed in the battle of the Manila Hotel in February, 1945. After the presentation of the Memorial Rostrum, outgoing President “Emy” Javier turned over the gavel to the incoming President, “Balmy” Balmaceda.  President Emy Javier read his annual report to the Rotarians, and thereafter presented the President’s Cup to the most outstanding Rotarian of the year - Ramon Ordoveza amidst a long and hearty ovation from every one present. Ramon Ordoveza was specially commended for his splendid work in publishing and editing the Rotary “Balita” and in connection with the publication of the Rotary Souvenir Program.  Orchids were pinned to the Rotarians who were one hundred percenters during the Rotary year 1948-49.
