An unemployable employee - page 8

The Rotary Balita no. 681 (September 27, 1951)

"Rotary Service" reports that a 16-year old boy in Darlington, England, left an open air school and sought employment. Although a bad spastic case and without full control of his limbs, the boy has plenty of determination and character. However, he was considered unemployable after three months striving on the part of various agencies to find a niche for him in industry. Speaking on Youth Employment Service to the Rotary Club of Darlington, the Youth Employment officer appealed to members to help the Boy, and immediately two offers of employment were received. The boy started working and now has a congenial and useful job. The officer commenting on the case said: "This act of service takes this boy from the scrap heap and gives him the opportunity to become a useful and happy citizen."
