The Rotary Balita no. 623 (June 23, 1948)

6231 Empire State Building 350 Fifth Avenue New York 1, New York June 7, 1949 My dear Balmy: My heartiest congratulations on your election as President of the Manila Rotary Club! Although I know that this places another load on your already overburdened shoulders, I am happy that you have accepted the job, for I feel that this sets an example of service that we need in the Philippines right now as never before. One of the greatest characteristics of the American people is that public men, no matter how busy in their allotted tasks, always find time to take up civic work, and that is one of the reasons for America's greatness. That you have accepted this challenge is a tribute to your public spirit, and I know that under your leadership Manila Rotary will forge ahead. With my best wishes for your success in your new office, and my best regards, I am Sincerely yours, (Sgd.) ROMMY The Honorable Cornelio Balmaceda Secretary of Commerce and Industry 210 Gral. Solano, San Miguel Manila, Philippines
