The Rotary Balita no. 642 (March 16, 1950).

A glittering member of London society was giving a dinner party and found herself short of men, according to an item in TidBits. She haughtily telephoned the local navy headquarters and asked them to send along a few staff members. Two men of the rank-and-file arrived and were indignantly requested to eat with the servants. Furious at such an occurrence, the hostess telephoned the commander the next day and demanded to know the reason for sending such low-ranking men to her party. The commander explained that one was an earl and the other a viscount. "Goodness," gasped the matron. "Will you please apologize to them for me, and ask them to call again?" They did. They went to the back door and took her two maids to the movies.
