The Rotary Balita no. 715 (February 19, 1953)

MOST OUTSTANDING ROTARIAN There will be several awards to be distributed to clubs and individuals at the 10th District Conference. These are the following: 1. Governor Ted Hall's Attendance Cup (For the Club that gets the highest percentage of attendance during the year) 2. Governor Marianito Lichauco's Plaque (For the most outstanding Rotarian of the District during the year.) 3. Governor Gil Puyat's Gold Medal (For the Rotarian who gets the highest percentage of attendance in the District during the Rotary year. Each Club necessarily must report to the Governor the Rotarian of the Club with highest attendance.) 4. Governor Emy Javier's Cup (For the Club that has advanced most the Four Avenues of service of Rotary during the year.) 5. One Certificate of Award to the Club that has excelled in each of the Four Avenues of Service, that is, one certificate for Club Service, one for Vocational Service, one for Community Service and one for International Service. In selecting the most outstanding Rotarian, do not lose sight of the fact that we are to select the most outstanding Rotarian of the District. In nominating him, please consider all Rotarians of District 48. Do not limit your choice to members of your own club. If you believe that a member of another club, not your own, merits the distinction, by all means nominate him. We want the selection to be made by the clubs, of the Rotarian whom they consider the most outstanding by his service to this district, District 48. This is my last communication to you before the conference. Let us all make it a point to meet each other in friendly camaraderie at the 10th District Conference to be held in Manila on February 19 to 21. And to make our enjoyment of friendship and fellowship more complete, let us all bring our Rotary Anns to the Conference and share with them the rewards of our efforts. Incidentally, the Manila Rotary Anns are preparing a special program just for the entertainment of the visiting Rotary Anns. DISTRICT ASSEMBLY IN APRIL Please be reminded that the District Assembly will be held next April in Cebu. Plans are laid out and more details worked which I am to be able to transmit to you in my forthcoming letter. SAVE YOUR CANCELLED STAMPS I am in receipt of a letter from a Rotarian in the United States who has requested my cooperation in securing a quantity of cancelled postage stamps from the Philippines. I wish to pass this information to the various clubs in the district with the request that they collect cancelled Philip pine postage stamps and mail them to: HENRY V.
