The Rotary Balita no. 757 (November 4, 1954).

Membership in Rotary carries with it an obligation the furtherance of its motto "Service Above Self." In the implementation of that motto, it demands a further obligation - a perfect UNION between our personal conduct and a high ethical standard in our business or profession. A good personal decorum must be complemented by the highest of ethics in our business or profession so that the Club and ourselves should benefit together. Departure from one or the other must necessarily result in the sufferance of both the Club and the members. No one in the Club can give it a good name or a bad one for that matter among our business associates except the individual member concerned, as he is the sole representative in the club of his business or professional colleagues. So let every member of our Club in the pursuit of his daily activities bear in mind what that great American President, Abraham Lincoln, said (replacing the Club for the town): "I will so conduct myself so that the town where I live shall be proud to own me and shall feel the loss when I leave it."
