N2  - A Rotary Club cannot exist - apart from the people in its community who need and use the business and professional services of its members. Therefore, while one of the club's primary objectives is the benefit which its members find in their association with each other, the club must also seek to benefit the community in which it is located, to earn and maintain the confidence of its people. The directors and chairmen of the different committees should try to find out just what is required in the community, keeping in mind just how far the club is able to assist. A program, regardless of how small it may be, tends to give a better understanding of Rotary's purpose to everyone. Rotary's policy of cooperation, rather than competition or duplication, should always be foremost in our minds and exemplified in all our activities. It is our duty and responsibility to contribute to the development of intelligent understanding and genuine cooperation with our educational and ministerial bodies and with any worthwhile group who are striving to assist the community in any worthy enterprise.
