Specific to local government chief executives, such principled mindset is indeed helpful, if not indispensable. Thankfully, we have a few of them in our midst who serve as an inspiration not only to other leaders, and more importantly, to their constituents. They have the integrity and principled determination to serve and pursue meaningful reforms. They have a clear vision for the community's future, encourage and implement innovative solutions, and develop strategic plans to achieve long-term goals. To be sure, our country needs more of this breed of leaders.
