520 _aLife is not so short but that there is always time for courtesy. -Emerson.) And Courtesy makes for a happier working day... for everybody. It's the friendly "hello" you give as you walk through the office. It's the helping hand you give on the job to a fellow worker who's just "learning the ropes." It's the warm handshake you give the chap who just returned after being ill. It's the warm greeting you give the newcomer who still has to find his way around and will be everlastingly grateful for those first few words that made him feel at home. It's the word of congratulations you give a man for a job well done. It's the spirit of cooperation that-in a very real sense-gives everyone a big lift to carry on the day's work. Yes, courtesy is all these things-and no matter what our responsibility no matter how busy we are. we owe it to ourselves and to those with whom we work to make certain that courtesy is a first order of business at all times.
