Seating arrangements were better than the first, the head table being located at the center. "Charlie" Hollmann of the Housing Committee had his chest out and head high. President Balmy devoted several minutes. to reminiscences and cherished memories of past meetings (pre-war) held in the Winter Garden. One-minute silence was observed in honor of Rotarians who have died since. the pre-war days. Dr. M. C. Cummings, Fullbright professor from the University of the Philippines, was the guest speaker. He spoke on "Economic Development of Bohol Province." He cited the tremendous strides that the island-province has achieved, and mentioned several of the projects that Bohol officials are undertaking to improve the economy of the province. "Dalup" Dalupan gave the response on behalf of the Rotary Club. Several Jaycee delegates who attended the 5th World Congress of Jaycees in Manila were guests and received an enthusiastic ovation. "Monching" del Rosario, recently elected president of Jaycee International, was also warmly applauded. Monching gave a few remarks, as did "Bert" Villanueva, Jaycee VP for Asia, and Atty. Joaquin Gonzales, Jaycee Secretary-General. "Fay" Bailey was called upon to speak on the "Second Object of Rotary." He acquitted himself creditably. Next week's subject is: "The Third Object of Rotary." Governor "Emy" Javier reminded the Rotarians about the charter presentation in Lucena on March 11, 1950 and urged them to attend, with their Rotary Anns. He also alerted the club regarding the charter presentation in Batangas, Batangas. "Basio" Eraña called the attention of the club to the fact that his name is not Basio but "GE". The club agreed to change his name, but not before "GE" was fined P5.00. Other finee was "Willie" Dy Buncio, for attempting to be a movie actor.
