"Basio" Eraña, Chairman of the First Courtesy Drive received the following commendations: President Manuel A. Roxas: "Doctor, your courtesy campaign is the noblest, eloquent and significant help in my administration. I greatly appreciate and thank you for it." City Mayor M. de la Fuente of Manila: "The Filipinos, by heritage and by tradition, a courteous people, seem to be lapsing into a moral coma as a result of the severe beating they suffered during the trying years of the last war. This courtesy campaign of the Rotary Club decidedly fills a crying need of the hour." Hundreds of communications from the executives and heads of offices of similar significance have also been received.
