The Rotary Balita no. 618 (April 7, 1948)
The Lions are with us. The Rotary has no longer the exclusive possession of the field. We welcome their entrance into the field of public service. There is room for both the Rotary and the Lions. The Lions club has the same objects as the Rotary. Their rules and regulations are similar to the rules and regulations of the Rotary club. They place emphasis, just as we do, on service and good fellowship. We, therefore, welcome them as kindred spirits, dedicated to the same worthy causes, fighting for the same noble ends. It is our fervent desire that no petty jealousies and unwarranted strifes should deter both organizations from accomplishing their lofty objectives. Rather, let the natural competition that may spring up between them, be friendly and constructive, inspiring both to great- er efforts for the benefit, not only of their individual members, but of the general public. Let the Lions and the Rotary work side by side, for the good of the community and the country at large. ROLL ROTARY and ROAR LIONS!
