The Rotary Balita no. 611 [December 23, 1948]
By ANGUS S. MITCHELL President, Rotary International [Reprinted from News Broadcast.] Before Rotary came into our lives, we each of us regarded the fellow from another country as a foreigner, and back in our minds, at least, carried a mild sense of something in him inferior to our own people. There are no foreigners in Rotary-indeed that word "foreigner" is the most foreign word in the language of Rotary. As we meet together in our gatherings, we come more and more to see and to understand and to know that at heart humanity is one, and that differences of race and creed and color are but surface marks while the hearts of all throb to the same impulses. "What is past is useful only as it suggests ways and means for progress. -Henry Ford
