In Memphis, Tenn., an alert motorist hurriedly telephoned police to report he saw two youths "stuffing" a girl's leg into an automobile trunk. Investigation disclosed the boys put their dates in the trunk to save the admission price at a drive-in movie. --- In Albany, N. Y., John Bylancik dropped a nickel into a parking meter. When he returned about 50 minutes later, he told the judge, the meter was gone and he had an overtime parking ticket. The judge learned that the meter had been defective. A patrolman noted that it registered red and ticketed the car. Then, meter repairmen took it away for an overhaul. The judge revoked the ticket, much to Mr. Bylancik's relief. --- Famed football coach Clarence (Biggie) Munn, of Michigan State, has a special license plate bearing the following-"NL 28-20." "28-20" represents the score of the Michigan State-U.C.L.A. Rose Bowl game, Munn's last game as head coach. The NL stands for "never licked." --- In New York City, a tough cabbie noted a frail little man with a cardboard valise standing on the curb. He appeared lost, and on his coat was a large card reading: "D.P. Please deliver to 2540 Plots Avenue, Bronx." After watching him for several minutes, the jackie said: "Come on, I'll take you." The man got in. As the cabbie pulled off, his passenger leaned over, tapped him on the shoulder and said: "Take the Ramp!" --- In Arlington, Va., a gasoline station has this sign displayed for all customers to see: "Do not Smoke Around Gasoline Tanks! Your Life May Not Be Worth Anything But Our Gas 18." --- In Dover, N. H, Judge Ovila J. Gregoire allowed that Gerard J. Tremblay had a good excuse for forgetting to renew his driving license but warned him not to try to use it again. Mr. Tremblay said he forgot about it in the excitement of getting married.
