Rotary club of Manila amends by-laws
With the end of contributing to the extension work of Rotary International and the possible creation of new Rotary clubs near Manila, at the general meeting of January 5, the Rotary Club amended Article 5 of its Constitution opening the way to new clubs. The amendment as approved is quoted below and compared with the original article of the Constitution. Present Provision (a) ART. V-Territorial Limits (Constitution) SEC. 1-The territorial limits of this organization shall be as follows: The City of Manila and its environs. Proposed Amendment "The territorial limits of this organization shall be as follows: The City of Manila and its environments, provided that the territory covered by any other Rotary Club that may hereafter be established within such territorial limits shall be excluded from the territorial limits of this Club." Also at the same meeting and in order to meet the considerable expenses which the club requires for its projects, amendments were approved for an increase in the admission fee and membership fee. The original articles are compared with the ap- proven amendments as follows: Present Provision (b) ART. V-Fees and Dues (By-Laws) SEC. 1-The admission fee shall be two hundred pesos (P200.00) to be paid before the applicant can qualify as a member. Proposed Amendment "The admission fee shall be three hundred pesos (P300.00) to be paid before the applicant can qualify as a member." Present Provision SEC. 2-The membership dues shall be one hundred pesos (P100.00) per annum, fifty pesos payable on the first day of July, and fifty pesos payable on the first day of January, with the understanding that three pesos of each semi-annual payment be applied to each member's subscription to the Rotarian magazine. Proposed Amendment "The membership dues shall be one hundred fifty pesos (P150.00) per annum, seventy-five pesos payable on the first day of July, and seventy-five pesos payable on the first day of January, with the understanding that three pesos of each semi annual payment to be applied to each member's subscription to the Rotarian magazine."
