Speaker last Tuesday at the Felina Lanuza health center, on the occasion of the 6th National Dental Health Week, was Dr. Mariano "Ike" C. Ieasiano, Manila health officer, The program was sponsored by the dental service section of the Manila health department. Congratulations to Philamlifers' Earl Caroll and Ramon "Monching" V. del Rosario. Their insurance company will finance the construction of a two-story building for the International Business Machines (IBM). It will rise on a lot on Isaac Peral, near Taft Avenue. Dr. Juan "Johnny" Orendain came, then went again to Bangkok. He's helping the Vietnamese government in drawing up a constitution. As president of Philippine Manufacturing Co., Paul Parrette presented to the secretary of agriculture and natural resources information materials on soil conservation. The project is part of the public relations program of the PMC. Re-elected president of the Philippine Columbian Association is Carlos "Carling" P. Fernandez. On the board of directors also are two other Manila Rotarians: Ramon Ordoveza and Dr. Quintin "Quint" Gomez. Carlos "Charlie" Palanca, Jr. is chairman of the executive committee for the 4th national convention of manufacturers and producers scheduled for Feb. 24-25. The convention is under the sponsorship of the Philippine Chamber of Industries. In the National Theater Commission which held its initial meeting recently, we find Eugenio "Gene" Puyat and Juan "Juanito" Nakpil among the members. Congratulations to Col. Salvador "Badong" Villa, general manager of the Manila Railroad Co., for the inauguration recently of diesel-rail motor cars.
