Dean J. Hugh Jackson of the Stanford University declared that young men taking up business courses in college would be better prepared to assume their places in the business world only when business leaders fully cooperate with those who are training them. The American educator made this statement in the course of his speech before Rotarians at the club's weekly luncheon-meeting. "Business leaders," Jackson went on, "should help future business leaders by delivering lectures and discussing specific problems on business, and enabling students to study business methods and practices on the spot." Dean Jackson, who is in the Philippines in connection with the FOA program, revealed that cooperation between Stanford University and business firms has been brought "to almost perfect basis." He explained that more than 200 prominent business executives from San Francisco Bay area deliver lectures ranging from one to four hours before students of the business school in Stanford. He also said that student groups were asked to visit industrial and commercial plants where they were shown actual business operations. Jackson said that if the system could be successfully carried out in Stanford, there was no reason why it could not be duplicated here.
