| Summary, etc. | The new Rotary year has been launched with the auspicious induction of the new Board of Directors of Manila Rotary headed by Hans Menzi, President. The theme has been sounded by Hand who in his inaugural speech pointed out that increased alertness, greater determination to serve, and incensed patriotism in the face of the dangers that beset the world and democracy must be imbued in every Rotarian's heart, for the spirit that animates hum must no waver. "He profits most who serves best." We must all serve to the utmost so that all may reap in full the blessings of the cherished ideals for which Rotary and the free world to which it belongs exist. The past year under the leadership of Past President Vince Bunuan has been a year of achievements. The new year under the leadership of Hans must be a year of even greater achievements. There can be no step backward, only ahead - to the head of securing for ourselves and for everybody else the bounties which rightly belong to free men. |
