520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. The only justification for the organization of any Rotary Club is the service that it may render. And since this service stems from the individual Rotarian, to have a strong, active club it is most important that club officers and committee members give careful consideration to the filling of unfilled classifications; the selection of new members, and the training or "education" of all members - old and new. By so doing, the club will be laying a sound foundation for Rotary service. FIRST OF ALL, the strength of a Rotary Club lies in its membership. With strong membership, good programs and healthy activity result. Conduct a classification survey -open classifications to be filled through activity of members. Avoid duplication and subterfuge in filling classifications. This is the first step. SECONDLY, the number of members is secondary to the kind of men brought into the club. In electing a new candidate a Rotarian should ask himself: Is he top man in the craft he would represent in Rotary? Will he take Rotary seriously and make the organization stronger for his being part of it? This is the second step. AND NOW, THE THIRD STEP: Every member of every Rotary Club in the world has a definite responsibility for service in his club, his community, his country and in Rotary world-wide. This service can come only from Rotarians who are properly "educated" and assimilated in Rotary. For both old and new members - keep them all busy. Continue Rotary education through club programs - not only in club service, but also in all fields of Rotary service. Urge attendance at district conference and international convention. Urge attendance at club meetings for benefits to both club and members. Stress fellowship. SUMMARY: Activity, properly motivated, led and directed by trained officers and members, will stimulate a program which challenges, and by which we will be laying the foundation for true Rotary service. - Compiled by Raf. S. Dedal. --- Gone, but not forgotten Marianito Lichauco, our popular, perennial ex-governor from Dagupan, who boasts a higher percentage of attendance at Manila Rotary than the average Manila Rotarian, was absent August 19th. We missed you, Marianito.
