520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. "With only a few free minutes before lunch once a week, I don't know more than half of the 150 Manila Rotarians any more." So said one Rotarian recently. And yet the development of acquaintance is a prime object of Rotary. Hence, the Homeside Socials. Spend an evening in a man's home, sit down to dinner with him, listen while he tells you his latest troubles with the import or exchange control, and you honestly get acquainted with him. Manila Rotarians are men worth knowing just for pure friendship's sake more than any other group in this city. Over a hundred classifications, and a dozen nationalities, but good fellows all. On August 14th, in spite of the heaviest rain of the season, in spite of conflicting activities, a record number of dinner guests met at six Homeside Socials. Gil Puyat and Emy Javier each had a dinner party in their homes in Sta. Mesa Heights. Dinny Gunn invited his guests to one of the penthouses atop the Bay View Hotel. Ralph Rebullida filled the large playroom beneath his home with Rotarians and friends. Bob Monical out in Pasay served turkey with all the trimmings to an enthusiastic group, where Ted Hall demonstrated allergy-magic on the side. Dalup Dalupan entertained in the Dao Room at the Manila Hotel. On October 3rd the six genial hosts will be Go Puan Seng, Tim Certeza, Vie Rufino, Conrado Benitez, EA Perkins, and K Huang. Keep open the date October 3rd for an evening of good Rotary spirit, fun, and fellowship.
