Summary, etc. | What is past service membership in a Rotary club? A former active member who becomes ineligible to active membership because of his retirement from active business or professional life, may, upon recommendation by the board of directors of the club, be elected to past service membership provided he has held active membership in one or more Rotary clubs for five or more years. What are the privileges of past service membership? A past service member has all the rights, privileges and responsibilities of an active member, except that he is not considered as representing any business or professional classification. What is the duration of past service membership? Past service membership automatically terminates if and when the past service member re-enters active business or professional life, or if he ceases to reside within the territorial limits of the club or within the residential territory recognized as the suburbs of the city in which the club is located. What is senior active membership? A senior active member is a non-classified member who has been an active Rotarian for twenty or more years, or who has reached the age of sixty-five, after having been an active Rotarian for at least five years, or who is a present or past officer of Rotary International, who has elected to accept senior active membership instead of his previously designated classification. May a former member of another Rotary club be elected to senior active membership by a club in which he never held regular active membership? Any Rotary club may elect to senior active membership any former member of any Rotary club who was a senior active member, or who was eligible to senior active membership at the time he ceased to be a member of a Rotary club. provided such former member resides within the territorial limits of the club.
