Summary, etc. | Addressing new civil engineers, Pablo Pablito" Lorenzo, secretary of public works, stressed the growing importance of engineering as a profession. Our Jose "Joe" Barredo, former strong-man and baritone, came out from his corner fighting and decried the testimony brought out in the hearing on the proposed Bell Act revision, to the effect that it costs more to assemble autos in the Philippines. Barredo, who is president of Fabar, Inc., which assembles Studebakers in the Philippines, that at least P200 per car can be saved if it is assembled here. |
