Summary, etc. The then Municipal Secretary of Malolos, and now Immediate Past President of Malolos Rotary, Francisco E. Aniag (Frank) conceived the idea of introducing in the locality the Rotary Movement way back in the early part of October, 1948. Since then, the following events of note took place: October 12, 1948-Frank Aniag sent a letter to Dr. Emilio M. Javier, the then President of Manila Rotary, and now Past Governor of District 48, requesting information as to how a Rotary Club could be organized. October 21, 1948-Frank Aniag received a favorable response from Past Governor Emy, stating among other things that the then Governor Ben Gaston was most receptive to the idea of extending the Rotary Movement in Bulacan, and that Governor Emy, together with some Manila Rotarians, was willing to come to Malolos to effect said organization. January 19, 1949-At the instance of Dr. Emilio M. Javier, a conference among the then Provincial Secretary Teofilo E. Sauco, who was concurrently Acting Provincial Governor of Bulacan; the then Assistant Provincia! Fiscal Feliciano S. Torres; the then Provincial Treasurer Vicente Avila and Frank Aniag was held, at the Office of the Provincial Governor. These four gentlemen have been referred to as the first Rotary "converts" in the Province of Bulacan. March 22, 1949-A letter-invitation, signed by Feliciano S. Torres, Teofilo E. Sauco and Frank Aniag, was circulated to all civic spirited citizens of the province inviting them to a sort of organizational luncheon-meeting at the Panciteria Canton, Malolos, Bulacan, on March 28, 1949, at 11:00 in the morning. March 28, 1949-The luncheon-meeting called for was held at Malolos among the representative elements of Bulacan for the purpose of canvassing their opinion on the advisability of organizing a Rotary Club in the province. April 3, 1949-Another luncheon-meeting was held at the Panciteria Mabuhay to which Dr. Emilio M. Javier, Past Governor Marianito F. Lichauco and a few Manila Rotarians were invited to speak on the meaning of Rotary, its objects, activities and accomplishments in general and just what everybody should know before deciding to become a Rotarian. April 7, 1953-The Constitution and By-Laws of the Rotary Club of Malolos was ratified by the 25 charter members, and the provisional officers of the Provisional Club were elected.
