Summary, etc. Sept. 1, 1949 – FIRST LUNCHEON MEETING. Held at the Riverside Country Club and presided by "ANDY" Guanzon.<br/><br/>Sept. 22, 1949 – "ART" Ilagan, representing the Rotary Club of Tarlac, who sponsored the Club for acceptance to Rotary International, watches over the meeting at the San Fernando Hotel. He made the discouraging remark that organizing a club usually takes 2 to 10 formative years. His listeners refuse to be discouraged.<br/><br/>Sept. 29, 1949 – Pampanga's Governor Jose B. Lingad – FIRST GUEST SPONSOR OF THE CLUB.<br/><br/>Oct. 3, 1949 – Temporary Officers of the Club are inducted by Gov. "EMY" Javier to welcome President Hudgson in Baguio.<br/><br/>Oct. 12, 1949 – San Fernando Rotarians join President of Rotary International Percy Hudgson and his wife Ann Edith on a visit to Baguio.<br/><br/>Nov. 5, 1949 – A NEW CLUB IS BORN: The Rotary Club of San Fernando, Pampanga receives formal recognition from Rotary International, according to the momentous telegram from Gov. "EMY" Javier.<br/><br/>Nov. 6, 1949 – THE FIRST PROJECT. Club resolves to sponsor the construction of a fitting memorial to Pampanga's war-time hero and martyr, the late Chief Justice Jose Abad Santos. Contributions are sent to typhoon victims of Bacolod and Cebu.<br/><br/>Nov. 13, 1949 – FIRST traffic stand offered by the club to the riding public is inaugurated with proper ceremonies.<br/><br/>Nov. 20, 1949 – FIRST ELECTION of Officers. Emilio EMY Javier. The Governor was presented a check for P620 in full payment of the contributions of P20 from each member. Renato NATO Tayag resigns his post as Secretary. Cesar JULIUS Germino is elected to his post.<br/><br/>Feb. 6, 1950 – FIRST OUT OF-TOWN MEETING is held in Floridablanca. GOODY Mañalac is the gracious host of the day.<br/><br/>Feb. 20, 1950 – 45th Anniversary of Rotary International. A cake with 45 candles is the principal attraction. Gov. EMY Javier and Past Gov. MARIANITO Lichauco are guests of the Club. <br/><br/>Induction of Jose PEPE Simpro, owner of a chain of bakeries in Pampanga and Manila. <br/><br/>Feb. 22, 1950 – Out-of-Town Meeting at Guagua. PEPE Simpao dishing it out.<br/><br/>Mar. 27, 1950 – YOUTH DAY. Class presidents of secondary schools in the province are guests of the Club.<br/><br/>Apr. 17, 1950 – Induction of Dr. Vicente TENG Galvez, Provincial Red Cross Chapter; Rafael VILLA DE Leon, sugar baron; and Pedro AMANG Noliman, a firearm agent. Club membership is not counted. <br/><br/>Apr. 28, 1950 – District Conference in Davao. A gold plaque is awarded to the Club for being the Best FULLY ORGANIZED CLUB IN THE DISTRICT.<br/><br/>May 11, 1950 – Gifts are donated for the inmates of Manila's Welfareville through Commissioner Asuncion Perez.<br/><br/>May 15, 1950 – Atty. Conrado CONRAD Del Rosario and Dr. Jose C. PEPITO Joven are inducted.<br/><br/>May 22, 1950 – Out-of-Town meeting at Sta. Rita. JUNIOR Ricafort is our host.<br/><br/>June 10, 1950 – Grand Benefit Ball at the Riverside Country Club to raise funds for the Abad Santos Memorial.<br/><br/>June 23, 1950 – Inter-City Forum at Tarlac. The Club is awarded the Gold Cup for having the biggest delegation.<br/><br/>June 26, 1950 – Jose Montemayor of Angeles, through the sponsorship of the Club, undergoes a plastic surgery free of charge. Dr. Francisco FRANK Flores provides over the operation on his harelip.<br/><br/>June 27, 1950 – Honesty Medal, a regular Club Award, is won by Boy Scout A. T. Jyco of Troop 70, Guagua, Pampanga.<br/><br/>SECOND YEAR<br/>July 1950 to June 1951<br/><br/>July 3, 1950 – INDEPENDENCE DAY. Induction of new officers with R.I. Vice-President Gil Puyat as Guest Speaker. Senator Sumulong, Guest Speaker. A picture of UNO flag is given to the Club by Atty. Cayco of the Philippine Foreign Affairs Office.<br/><br/>Oct. 29, 1950 – District Assembly at Tacloban, Leyte is attended by President ANDY Guanzon and SANDY Sandico. <br/><br/>Nov. 5, 1950 – 1st Anniversary of our club. Proper ceremonies were presented.<br/><br/>Dec. 18, 1950 – CLEAN-UP WEEK. All Rotarians and Boy Scouts close ranks in cleaning, sweeping, and collecting the garbage of the town. <br/><br/>Dec. 23, 1950 – CHILDREN AND LADIES DAY. Distribution of Christmas packages to indigents, and patients at the Pampanga Provincial Hospital.<br/><br/>Dec. 27, 1950 – BENEFIT BALL for the Abad Santos Memorial Fund.<br/><br/>Dec. 31, 1950 – Another Benefit Ball for the Abad Santos Memorial Fund. <br/><br/>Jan. 22, 1951 – Citations are given to JUANING Dimzon, CHING Chineuanco and PEPITO Joven for attending to the needs of wounded barrio folks who were caught in a cross-fire of ammunition between the armed forces and dissidents at Floridablanca.<br/><br/>Feb. 5, 1951 – Induction of "LUCKY-SAN" and "BOB" Armstrong. TILA de Leon is dropped from the roster.<br/><br/>Feb. 19, 1951 – 46th Anniversary of R.I. Elections for the officers of Rotary Year 1951-52 were held.<br/><br/>Feb. 24, 1951 – Inter-City meeting at Malolos. ANDY Guanzon talked on club service.<br/><br/>Mar. 10, 1951 – District Conference is held in Baguio. Club gets the Carabao Award for having the biggest delegation.<br/><br/>TED HALL CUP IS AWARDED TO THE CLUB FOR ITS HIGHEST PERCENTAGE OF ATTENDANCE DURING THE 1950-51 ROTARY YEAR<br/><br/>Mar. 26, 1951 – Out-of-Town meeting at Guagua. Once again PEPS Simpao gives out with the food.<br/><br/>Apr. 7, 1951 – Club members attend the inter-city forum and the CHARTER PRESENTATION to the Rotary Club of Laoag.<br/><br/>Apr. 26, 1951 – Justino TINONG David is given a camagong cane by the Rotary Club of Manila. as THE MOST ENTHUSIASTIC ROTARIAN OF THE DISTRICT.<br/><br/>Apr. 29, 1951 – Filipino Youth Symphony Orchestra gives a hand in the raising of funds for the Abad Santos Memorial. <br/><br/>May 12, 1961 – L.V.N. DAY. All actors and actresses of the LVN STUDIOS went to Guagua to help the club in their Abad Santos Memorial Project. <br/><br/>May 29, 1951 – Unveiling of the historical marker of the late Chief Justice Jose Abad Santos at his former residence.<br/><br/>June 26, 1951 – Inter-City Forum at Tarlac. The Club wins the trophy for the Biggest Attendance again.<br/><br/>THIRD YEAR <br/>June 1951 July 1952<br/><br/>July 2, 1951 – "LUKY-SAN" sponsors the education of a bootblack from Guagua; enrolling the boy at the Guagua National Colleges with his tuition fees being paid for the next four school years. <br/><br/>July 9, 1951 – Induction of newly-elected officers. Vice-President Fernando Lopez is the Guest Speaker. Out-of-Town meeting is held at the IMA Headquarters Club, Camp Olivas. P2,000 were raised for the 6th BCT Chapel.<br/><br/>Feb. 4, 1952 – Gov. Vicente TINGTING Faelnar visits the Club.<br/><br/>Feb. 17, 1952 – Inter-City Forum at Tarlac; – the Club is awarded for the 5th time the Biggest Attendance Cup.<br/><br/>Feb. 18, 1952 – LUCKY-SAN and PEL Pelayo resign. <br/><br/>March 22, 1952 – We are the HOST CLUB at the Inter-City Forum. Benito BEN Legarda visits our club. <br/><br/>Oct. 29, 1952 – A mosquito smoke sprayer is donated to the Pampanga Provincial Hospital. Col. Benjamin SANTI Santillan is re-inducted.<br/><br/>Nov. 5, 1952 – Club's 4th Anniversary. Senator Quintin Paredes – Guest Speaker.<br/><br/>Dec. 10, 1952 – MOTHER'S DAY. Selection of Real Mother of Pampanga by the Club and awards were given to Mrs. Arroyo, a mother of 9; and to Mrs. Bundalian.<br/><br/>Dec. 24, 1952 – Distribution of foodstuff to indigents of San Simon, San Luis and Mexico. Miscellaneous items were also given to the Provincial Warden, to the Second Station Hospital and to the Pampanga Provincial Hospital.<br/><br/>Dec. 27, 1952 – Visit of R.I. President Brunnier at our Club. He was on his way to Baguio, and dropped at the clubhouse. An Arch was erected in his honor and a brass band was on hand to meet him.<br/><br/>Dec. 30, 1952 – Joint meeting of the Jaycees – the Knights of Columbus and the Club Cervantino. Rizal Day Parade featuring floats of different commercial houses in Pampanga; all sponsored by the club.<br/><br/>Jan. 9, 1953 – Agustin DEDENG Ruiz resigns. <br/><br/>Jan. 28, 1953 – Induction of Jose PEPE Eusebio; Jose JUNIOR Ricafort resigns.<br/><br/>Feb. 4, 1953 – Induction of the Baby Rotarian, Dr. Primitivo PITING Pineda.<br/><br/>Feb. 18, 1953 – Visit of R.I. Representative to the District Conference held in Manila, OLLIE Oberg and his Ann Nancy. Election of officers for the Rotary Year 1953-54. <br/><br/>Feb. 19, 1953 – DISTRICT CONFERENCE IN MANILA. Tinong David is awarded the citation for the "Most Enthusiastic Rotarian of the District." This is the second year Tinong is given this award.<br/><br/>Feb. 20, 1953 – Induction of INNER WHEEL CLUB OFFICERS. Fely Tanco, President of Manila's Inner Wheel Club Guest Speaker. <br/><br/>March 9, 1953 – "Despedida" party for "PEPE" Simpao, who is going abroad. JIMMY Bondoc and JUANING Simzon resign. <br/><br/>March 18, 1953 – Dr. Hugo LOG Lozano and Atty. Amadeo CEONG Yuzon (CEI, Clerk of Court), are inducted.<br/><br/>April 1, 1953 – Valedictorians of a secondary schools of Pampanga are feted and honored on this YOUTH DAY of the club.<br/><br/>May 5, 1953 – Club members attend the necrological services at Camp Olivas, honoring the 13 enlisted men of the 6th BCT who died in action against the dissidents.<br/><br/>May 27, 1953 – Induction of Trinidad "TIRING" Lazatin, a sugar cane planter, theatre operator and an Engineer.<br/><br/>FIFTH YEAR<br/>July 1953-June 1954<br/><br/>July 1, 1958 – Induction of new officers with Past R.I. LIONG Liongson Branch Manager of the Philippine National Bank is inducted.<br/><br/>Aug. 12, 1953 – Induction of Ricardo DICK Austria, Branch Manager of the Coca-Cola Plant; and Judge of the Peace Court in San Fernando, Vicente ENTENG David. Aug. 19, 1953. <br/><br/>Aug. 19, 1953 – QUEZON'S BIRTHDAY. Professor Cacnio of the University of the Philippines is the Guest Speaker. A speech Clinic for the club is formed. Club donates all the fines of the day to the Pampanga Puericulture Center in San Fernando.<br/><br/>Sept. 2, 1953 – Inter-Club meeting between San Fernando and the Rotary Club of Manila. Some 25 Manila Rotarians were present.<br/>
