520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Rotary isn't always a dignified and austere social club It's very definite code and platform puts dynamite under set patterns at times. For instance, the Retarian who said, "I can't find time in my busy schedule to keep up a 100% attendance" found that other Rotarians were doing so at more sacrifice than him. The fuse was lighted by these men who wouldn't subscribe to that thinking, and BANG... he got a terrific "kick in his Can'ts." Another reasoned, "I'd like to be more active in club committee work but I can't spread myself too thin with the many other duties I have." Other Rotarians hearing this statement began to inform this fellow of their work with the Chest, Boy Scouts, Church committees and so on. The fuse was lit and soon... BANG! He got a terrific "kick in his can'ts" and the dynamics of Rotary had worked again. If you're wandering in the forest of "buts" and "can'ts," don't say you weren't warned when that "BANG!" comes off. There are guys just waiting to light the fuse for your own good. And, by golly, you're going to be the better Rotarian after you get this "kick in the can'ts!" -ERNIS ORCHARD, "The Gimlet," Duluth, Minn.
