Summary, etc. Former Justice George A. Malcolm, speaking on March 24, before the Rotary Club of Manila at its regular weekly luncheon-meeting, paid tribute to the members of the Philippine Supreme Court. "They are the equal of any jurist in other parts of the world," he said, and added that the composition of the Supreme Court is even better than the court to which he once belonged. Malcolm gave a stern reminder, however, that judging should not be merely concerned or limited with the handing down of cases but should also include administration of the kind that precludes any delay in meting out justice. Speaking on Fil-American relations, the former Supreme Court justice likened it to a silver lining "in the dark clouds over the Far East today." He urged that these cordial relations existing today between the two peoples should be maintained at all costs. He also praised the Filipino people for having lost the colonial mentality which had gripped many people in his own United States; for the coming of age of the Philippine press; and for youth who are now taking the place of the old generation. Malcolm also expressed deep gratitude to other Filipino people for the overwhelming affection which has been showered upon him and his wife.
