The Rotary Balita no. 613 (January 27, 1948)

Our guest of honor and speaker Hon. Modesto Farolan, Consul for Hawaii, was absent this day and every Rotarian would want to find out why he was unable to attend the meeting. But this did not dampen the spirit of the meeting. As it also was a Foreign Students Day, different students from foreign countries have been presented to the Rotarians. Countries like the United States, Great Britain, India, China, Israel, Czechoslovakia, Germany and Poland were represented; but there was one thing that touched the innermost feeling of every present when Miss Margot Cassel was presented to the members as one who does not belong to any country. She herself admitted that she was stateless and as such she belonged she hoped to the United Nations Organization. Her remarks were so touching when she said that here in the Philippines She found lots of friends who had helped her not only in her needs but also in her studies and the building-up of her future home. The Publication Committee would like to extend their apologies to A. P. Reyes for not having been mentioned as the brains of that excellent Christmas program that we had last December 23rd, 1948.
