Honesty

Description: page 2 In: Rotary Club of Manila. The Rotary Balita No. 613 to 623Summary: The idea of the “honesty campaign’ came in for a lot of good-natured ribbing last fall when the committee was seeking ideas. This was natural, for we all realize it is not possible to push people into honesty or to take them by the ears and make them into paragons of virtue. However, we believe the honesty committee is striking the right note when they seek to publicize and reward honesty, for while it is seldom that older people change habits of any kind, young people's habits can be started in the right direction by giving approbation to the right habits. Giving publicity to outstanding acts of honesty will show young people that honesty is appreciated. What the rest of us in Rotary can do to back up the committee is to see that in our daily contacts and within our own organizations we properly publicize and few are those whose honesty deserves it.
