Enactment 51-3: This enactment amends the By-Laws of RI and the Standard Club Constitution so as to enable a Rotarian to become a senior active member after fifteen years of active membership, instead of twenty years as heretofore provided. Enactment 51-8: Heretofore the By-Laws of RI has provided that the Board of RI shall designate one member of the Nominating Committee for President of RI as Chairman of the Committee. This enactment amends the By-Laws of RI so as to provide that the Nominating Committee for the President of RI shall elect its own Chairman from among its members. Enactment 51-9 This enactment adds to Article I of the Constitution of RI a description of RI, namely: "Rotary International is the association of Rotary Clubs throughout the world." This enactment also amends the Consti tution and By-Laws of RI and the Standard Club Constitution to provide that there shall be one Object of Rotary. The amendment does not change the text of the four paragraphs of the Object. It changes only the opening sentence from "The Objects of Rotary are" to "The Object of Rotary is." Enactment 51-10 This enactment amends the By-Laws of RI so as to provide for a "Program Planning Committee" in lieu of the "Aims and Objects Committee." The composition of the committee remains as at present. The principal change is in the name of the committee. Enactment 51-11 This enactment amends the By-Laws of RI so as to clarify the actual procedure relating to the method of nominating Direc- tors from Canada and Great Britain and Ireland. Resolution 51-14 This resolution records the approval of the Convention, as required by the By-Laws of RI, to the expenditure of $250,000 annually for a period of three years, beginning 1 July, 1952, from the corpus of the Rotary Foundation, for the furtherance of the purposes of the Rotary Foundation. Adopted as Amended Enactment 51-13 This enactment as proposed provided for a Resolutions Committee of the Council on Legislation. It was adopted as amended, namely: to amend the Constitution and By-Laws of RI and the Standard Club Constitution so as to provide for the examination of proposed legislation by the Board of Directors, on the advice of the Constitution: and By-Laws Committee of RI.
