There were 213 registrations representing the twenty-six clubs in District No. 48. The program, as prepared by Governor Tingting Faelnar, was interesting and carried through on schedule. The principal subjects and discussion leaders were: The Recommended Committee Plan by President Joaquin L. Panis of the Rotary Club of Cebu. The Rotary Foundation Fellowships by Past Governor Fernando D. Manalo. Vocational Service - Simply Applied by Past Governor Theo. L. Hall. Community Service - Up to Date by Past Governor Emilio M. Javier. Our Magazines by President Mariano Bustos of the Rotary Club of Malolos. Exemplification - Informing a Prospective Member by the Rotary Club of Dumaguete. Romulo, Past Director and Past Vice President of Rotary International, Past President and now Honorary Member, Rotary Club of Manila, entertained the 300 Rotarians and guests with subjects both serious and humorous. The following day at a Fellowship luncheon held at the Manila Hotel's Winter Garden, Gil Puyat, Past Rotary International Vice- President, Past Governor and Past President, Rotary Club of Manila, really let his hair down when he spoke on "Youth's Challenge to Rotary." The fellowship at this luncheon was so good that some 11,500.00 was raised through spontaneous voluntary contributions toward the Governor's District Fund. This contribution was in part a testimonial in recognition of the wise and splendid manner in which Past Governor Nanding Manalo handled the district fund during his administration. When the various committees were appointed to organize and prepare for this Assembly, President Vince Bunuan directed that every effort be made to wipe out the adverse criticism that the Rotary Club of Manila had been subjected to during past district gatherings, as unhospitable and unfriendly. [illegible] All did their part so well, following out President Vince's directives, that during the final session of the Assembly there were two resolutions which the Assembly, upon the initiative of the provincial delegates, passed: one, expressing the congratulations of the Assembly to the Rotary Club of Manila for the success of the Assembly; and second, for the attention and care that were given them by each and everyone of the Committees of the Host Club.
