President's page - The Rotary Balita no. 612 (January 13, 1949)
Description: page 20 In: Rotary Club of Manila. The Rotary Balita No. 600 to 623Summary: 1. Your Board of Directors wishes you all success and happiness in the year 1949. May we find greater satisfaction in the practical application of the Four Objects of Rotary during this current year. 2. The more critical we are the less we accomplish for Rotary. Remember it is much easier to destroy than to build. To promote understanding, fellowship and goodwill, we should "commend more and condemn less." 3. In one of the pamphlets from Rotary International we read: "The Club must also seek to benefit the community and to earn and maintain the confidence of its people." We should "ascertain the needs of the community and determine what the Club can do to help meet these needs." We do not have a monopoly on brilliant ideas. So, let us just continue to do good, to help whenever we are needed, regardless of whether or not we get credit or recognition for what we do, unmindful of whether we are leaders or simple followers in a given project. We should cultivate "intelligent understanding and genuine cooperation in worthwhile causes." 4. In the pamphlet entitled "Your Year" we read: "General policies, financial matters, and other business details should be handled by the Board on behalf of the Club, thus saving time in Club meetings." If we, therefore, have constructive ideas to suggest for the benefit of Rotary in general and of our Club in particular, kindly send them to our Board of Directors. Your Board needs. Your constant help and encouragement.Item type | Current library | Call number | Status | Barcode | |
