He has been given the go-signal by President Quirino to plan for a World Fair and Exposition in Manila in 1953. "Balmy" will soon organize an office to undertake the preparations for this project, which will focus the attention of traders all over the world on this country. --- Gil Puyat has a grin spreading from ear to ear these days. And why not? The strength that he showed in the last election, which catapulted Gil to the post of senator, has proved that our past president has got what it takes when it comes to political know-how. Here's hoping Gil's presence in the upper chamber of the Congress will have a salutary effect on the country at large. --- Manila Hotel's Charlie Hollmann was another fellow whom the elections made very happy. Charlie's son, Charlie Hollmann, Jr., was elected mayor of Calumpit, Bulacan. We believe that the son is as "simpatico" as the father, who, while he looks like a Broadway cavalier, is as Tagalog as Balagtas. --- Marriage is achievement anytime, anywhere. Our "Gary" Yupangco will soon up and middle-aisle it-to use the language of Winchell-with Miss Nita Laurel, daughter of Dr. Jose P. Laurel, top notcher in the Nov. 13 election.Item type | Current library | Call number | Status | Barcode | |
