This was done, Carroll said, to give safe investment outlets for the policyholders' money. He said that negotiations for the purchase of a tract of land in Quezon City in order to permit the Philippine Ameri- can to set up a model housing project is being undertaken. The Quezon City project, when completed, would accommodate some 600 families, Carroll added. It would also create a model community center in Quezon City because the area will be pro- vided with all facilities that may not be available in the vicinity, such as a public park, puericulture center, a church, market, recreation centers and a school.
