Description: page 36 In: Rotary Club of Manila. The Rotary Balita No. 675 to 698Summary: The 48th Rotary District Conference held at Iloilo City last April 20th elected past District Gov. Emy Javier, Director Nominee of Rotary International. Apprised of the good news by a committee of three Rotarians while in church, Emy showed emotion on his election even after his brief speech of acceptance when he haltingly said, "I will not fail you." Emy's election is subject to confirmation by R. I. including other director nominees from Japan, Formosa, Hongkong, Australia, Burma, India and Singapore. For the first time the Philippines has been accorded the honor of electing a director nominee of R. I., and as other Far Eastern countries are looking forward for a seat in the R. I. board of directors, a stiff competition is expected.Item type | Current library | Call number | Status | Barcode | |
