To all clubs of the district, especially the outgoing presidents and members of the boards of directors I wish to extend my deep gratitude for their vas derful cooperation and the good work they have executed in discharging their duties with their club. They have all done creditable work and I hope the incumbent officers will discharge their duties as faithfully as their predecessors. I wish to thank personally, and express my sincerest gratitude to all Rotarians who have opened and offered their homes to me and my Trining and who have made my visits to the various clubs a very pleasant and agreeable task. I shall always treasure with land memories the hospitality and the faultless attention showered upon us during our visits. I would not be completing my term properly if I did not express my gratefulness to all of those in whose homes I was warmly received and shown genuine friendship. Thanks to you all, especially- “Eliong” Servando and his charming family; "Ernie" and Laling Wuthrich; "Tony" and Asiang Suaro: "Among" Evangelista; "Dado" and Ichay Agustin: Eng. Governor "Art" will be in our midst soon so the will very likely be my last letter. I wish to state frankly, in expressing my gratitude to all clubs in the district, that the performance of my duties as governor during the term just closed has been most agreeable assignment. Rotarians all over the district have given me such cooperation that I feel it would have been a very difficult task discharge my duties as governor without this genuine wholehearted and unhesitating support and cooperation given me. My visits to the clubs have afforded me an opportunity to know and understand Rotarians throughout the district and I feel that the many friendships that I have made during these past years will not terminate with my term. Indeed, I am looking forward to their continuance in the years to come. Although my official duties as governor have ended, I can say with certainty that my personal contacts with you will remain as long as I live. The friendly relations I have had with Rotarians throughout the district and throughout the Rotary world will long remain. So I shall not say goodbye but will simply say I'll be seeing you." HONORARY MEMBERSHIP Let me remind every Rotary Club operating under the standard club constitution that it should confirm from time to time on July 1st the membership of each of its honorary members whom it wishes to retain in membership. If this procedure is not followed, the membership of an honorary member would appear to have terminated automatically. CLUB ASSEMBLY It is recommended that you call a club assembly immediately in order to get your Committee Chairman to be acquainted with your plans and objectives for the coming year. P. S. 4 p.m. The following communication from Governor Art. Ilagan was received while the last page of the Governor's Letter was being run through the duplicating machine: "Madrid, July 10, 1953 Dear Ben, Here I am stucked up for difficulty in plane reservation. Until now I can not make definite flying via Rome where I plan to stay a pair of days. In view of this delay in my arrival back to the Philippines, kindly take on as Governor. I do not think I'll be delayed more than the end of the month as the PAL office has just called me up informing me of the transmittal to Rome of the tentative schedule to leave Madrid on 18th & on 25th to be in Manila on the 30th aftern We're just waiting for confirmation. I hope you enjoyed your trip to New York. When I left Paris, we went to Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Zurich, Lisbon and in all these places I have to contacted and attended meetings (not in all) and given them my club flag. I'll do the same in Rome and other cities there which I might visit. Thanks for this request and my kindest regards to you and yours, I am, Rotarily yours, ART ILAGAN"
