The Rotary Balita No. 624 to 649Summary: For the information of the members, the BALITA is reprinting the following excerpts of the By-laws regarding election of Directors and Officers: ELECTION OF DIRECTORS AND OFFICERS SECTION 1-At the regular meeting one month prior to the annual meeting nominations shall be called for by the chairman for candidates for the Board of Directors; nominations may be made in any number by the members from the floor. These nominations shall be placed upon a ballot and voted for at the annual meeting and the six candidates securing the highest number of votes, together with the outgoing President shall constitute the Board of Directors for the ensuing Rotary year. The one among the six candidates receiving the highest number of votes shall be President of the Club for that year. If he should refuse to accept the office of President. the one next highest among the six candidates elected shall automatically become the President. The one who receives the next highest number of votes, and who is willing to accept, shall automatically become the Vice-President. SECTION 2.-The board of directors elect shall meet within one week after the annual meeting and shall elect from their members a secretary and a treasurer, provided, however, that the secretary or treasurer at the discretion of the board may be elected by them from the membership of the club and when so elected shall be ex-officio members of the board. At this same meeting the board of directors elect shall elect a sergeant-at-arms from the membership of the club. SECTION 3.-A vacancy in the board of directors or any office shall be filled by the remaining members of the board.
