The Rotary Balita No. 624 to 649Summary: International Understanding Aid-The Rotary Club of Kelowna, B.C., Canada, recently staged an International Folk Song and Dance Festival with 4,000 persons in attendance. Aside from the Bavarian dancers, all were amateurs. In addition to providing outstanding and unusual entertainment, the affair helped to make all in attendance better acquainted with the cultures of the countries represented in the festival. Finnish Orphans-The Rotary Club of Loveland, Colorado, U.S.A., has "adopted" two orphans in BergaPorboo, Finland, contributing $10.00 per month to cover the cost of their education. The club sends clothing and gifts at Christmas time and carries on regular correspondence with the boys. Youth Service in Cyprus-Thanks to the efforts of the Rotary Club of Nicosia, Cyprus, some 20 students are receiving instructions in bookkeeping, shorthand, and typewriting. The Rotary club provides the teacher, the classroom, and the typewriters through a special fund which is raised for technical training.
