By: Description: page 14 In: Rotary Club of Manila. The Rotary Balita No. 749 to 774Summary: The papers say that several members of the cabinet, among them the secretary of health, Dr. Paulino Garcia, were down with the flu. There's a moral here somewhere. Two of the hundred voices that sang Verds "Requiem" last Tuesday, presented by the Manila Symphony Chorus, are familiar to Rotarians. They belong to Karl Kreutz and Leroy Young. The Rotarian-studded Security Bank inaugurated its new edifice on the Escolta this week. Chairman of the board of directors is Dr. Nicanor "Niel Jacinto; vice-chairman is Vicente "Vic" Rufus vice-president is Ernesto "Ernie" Rufino; and members, Manuel "Manny" de Leon, and Daniel "Dan" Aguinaldo. The Security building was designed by Juan "Juanito" Nakpil and constructed by the firm headed by Juan J. "Jonby" Carlos. For the 17th year, Jorge "George" B. Varge heads the PAAF, highest organization in charge of sports in the Philippines. Congrats, George, and don't let the barkers bother you. Very timely was the assurance of Paul Parrette that the Philippine Manufacturing Company is not folding up, contrary to the wishful thinking of some people. On the occasion of the anniversary of the Manila Loan and Building Association, a doff of the Bautista fez to Dean Conrado Benitez, president, and Greg Gregorio, secretary-treasurer. Our Felino "Lino" Neri is back in government harness. He is adviser to the President on foreign relations. Welcome to Dr. Juan "Johnny" Orendain, back from Geneva and other points east.
