Orchids to Ollie /
Description: page 20 In: Rotary Club of Manila. The Rotary Balita No. 699 to 723Summary: Out of a great and significant event witnessed recently in Great Britain came the news that Rotarian O. D. A. "Ollie" Oberg of Sydney, Australia, was decorated with the "Companion of the Order of St. Michael and St. George" during the coronation, June 2 this month, of Elizabeth II as queen of England. This, certainly, is a happy and welcome news to District 48, particularly to the Manila Club, who played host to Ollie during the 10th Rotary District Conference held in Manila February 19-21, 1953. Ollie was the personal representative of the President of R. I. to our District Conference where he delivered two notable speeches, one on the opening day and the other during the last plenary session, both of which were hailed by Rotarians as among the best addresses they have ever heard since they joined Rotary. With him was his Rotary Ann Dulcie who participated enthusiastically and jubilantly with all the funs and frolics of the 3-day conference.Item type | Current library | Call number | Status | Barcode | |
