Christmas message from Dist. Gov. "Nanding" Manalo / "Nanding" Manalo
Description: page 3 In: Rotary Club of Manila. The Rotary Balita No. 650 to 674Summary: Fellow Rotarians: The year has come around again that we may celebrate the birthday of Him Who came to save mankind from his inhumanity to himself. It is but fitting that during this Yuletide we pause for a brief moment and take stock of what good things we have, and noting down the unsolved problems that are besetting us, causing us to realize that we are helpless in overcoming our numerous difficulties without the unbounded aid and guidance of Jesus Christ in Whose very name this day is being dedicated. Rotarians all over the world are known for their good deeds in their own individual capacity, as well as in the civic cooperation with the officials of their respective communities which have won the respect and admiration of those who have come to know the principles and ideals that motivate Rotary. To carry out our ideals needs. courage, selflessness and perseverance, especially during this precarious period of our history which has affected man's normal way of thinking. Every Rotary step that we make in our forward movement has to be made with the utmost caution and diplomacy, for fear that any mis-step might be misunderstood by those who are ill-minded, and cause us to retrogress unnecessarily. Let us all be joyful during this Christmas season, as this is one of the days in all Christendom when every Christian who is a real Rotarian joins all other brother Rotarians to express their joy and thanks to God for the success of our program during this Rotary year, and to supplicate in all humility for the fulfillment of our Rotary plans during the years to come. Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year, I am Rotarily yours, F. D. "NANDING" MANALO, M.D. Governor, District No. 48, R.
