He addressed the Malolos Rotary Club on its 5th anniversary and then had his speech read before the forest conservation conference. One of the presiding officers at the latter was Florencio "Tamio" Tamesis. Welcome to Joseph "Joe" Shurdut, who arrived Thursday from the U.S. He is president and general manager of Shurdut Mill Supply Co., Inc. Congratulations to Go Puan Seng on two counts: the fine Fookien Times Yearbook and the circulation of Go's paper in Taiwan. Dr. Paulino Garcia, secretary of health, took a step in the right direction when he ordered two government alienists to survey members of the armed forces to find out if they have "amok" tendencies. Congratulations to Charles "Chick" Parsons. A rear admiral of the U.S. navy, commended the services of the Luzon Stevedoring Co. in Guam saying that the services were "entirely satisfactory." Jorge "George" B. Vargas, president of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, spoke before the San Jose de Trozo Sea Scout No. 3 at a Bridge of Honor held in the Philippine Navy headquarters. Dr. Gumersindo "Gumer" Garcia, a regent of the U.P., heads a committee named by the board to study charges aired against a priest who is active on the U.P. campus. More Filipino participation in local trade and commerce was urged by Teofilo "Rex" Reyes before the Rotary Club of Batangas. At the last Saturday's election in the Philippine Chamber of Industries, two Manila Rotarians and a Rotarian from Malolos were elected to the Board of Directors. The Manila Rotarians are P. E. Domingo and Gary Yupangco and the Malolos Rotarian is E. V. Mendoza. The Directors of the Chamber afterwards re-elected P. E.
