Description: page 32-33 In: Rotary Club of Manila. The Rotary Balita No. 700 to 723Summary: The Rotary club of Bayonne-Biarritz, France, invites Rotarians and their families in all five Rotary districts of France to an unusual contest. A prize of 50,000 francs is offered for a poem in homage to Vietor Hugo during this year which marks the 150th anniversary of that great national poet's birth. Contestants for the prize are free to choose the subject for the poem of twenty verses in French. Entries will be published and the victor acclaimed at a festival where his poem will be read by an actress. The district governor who initiated this project remarks that it permits the addition of things of the spirit to the practical activities of Rotary. In this respect, many challenging opportunities arise for Rotary clubs the world over.
