Eye bank establish through Rotary efforts

Description: page 31-32 In: Rotary Club of Manila. The Rotary Balita No. 700 to 723Summary: Eight years ago at the district conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, Rotarians interested themselves in the legalities of establishing an eye bank in Southern Africa. Since that time Rotarians have continued to keep this need before the public and especially before successive Ministers of Health. Because of these continuous efforts an eye bank, to be operated in conjunction with other "banks" for the storage of bone, cartilage and other human tissues, is soon to be established in Cape Town. Congratulations to the Rotarians of Southern Africa on this achievement in community service!
