By: Description: page 25 In: Rotary Club of Manila. The Rotary Balita No. 749 to 774Summary: City Health Officer Mariano "Ike" C. Icasiano, who is also president of the Philippine Medical As- sociation, announced he was going to Pangasinan at the end of the month for an evaluation of the rural free clinics established in the province by the Dagupan Medical Society. We find a number of Manila Rotarians in the Philippine trade and goodwill mission which will soon be leaving for U.S. points, under the auspices of the House Industries Association of the Philippines. P. E. Domingo heads the big delegation, which includes our Charlie Palanca as a member. The board of directors of the Philippine Trust Company were re-elected, among them Luis Ablaze and Charles "Chick" Parsons. Recently the Civilian Defense Administration met to discuss a pamphlet which would instruct the public on what to do in case of a chemical or bacteriological attack. We find Dr. Feliciano "Ciano" K. Cruz, manager of the Philippine National Red Cross, among the conferees. Modesto "Fary" Farolan's Philippine Tourist and Travel Association has opened a "Know Corregidor" essay contest, ending March 2. Incidentally, Farolan and Dean Benitez reminisced on old times of the Philippine press when they were interviewed by Armando J. Malay over DZFM last week. Occasion was the observance of National Press Week.
