The Rotary Balita No. 700 to 723Summary: Unheralded recent Manila visitors was a twelve-man delegation from California - who were on their way to the Rotary International Convention in Paris. They arrived on Holy Thursday night, April 2nd, via Pan-American Airways. With only but half-an-hour notice before their landing, it set Secretary "Art" Tanco and "Doc" Ayesa on a mad race to be on time to meet them at the Airport, and whisked them off to Bay View Hotel for treats. The visiting delegation composed of Past District Governor "Frank" E. Allen and his Rotary Ann, "Louella", of San Mateo, California; Past Pres. "Fred" Nason and his Rotary Ann, "Violet", of Beverly Hills, California; "Robert" I. Eliot, of North Hollywood; "Dale" C. Kennedy and his Rotary Ann, "Kay", of Lynwood Rotary Club; Mr. & Mrs. Barker, an architect from Los Angeles, and three other ladies. Gov. "Ben" Legarda and other fellow Rotarians, "Peg" and "Dolly" Green, "Marianito" Lichauco, "Art" and "Fely" Tanco were at hand to entertain them. The day following, the visitors were treated to a whole day affair. A sight-seeing trip around the city and suburbs, an afternoon shopping at "El Tesoro," (opened especially for them) followed by a Merienda-Cena tendered by Gov. "Ben" and "Trining" Legarda at their home. It was such a nice and splendid party. Fellow Rotarians who graced the occasion were "Ben" and "Trining" Legarda, "Danding" and "Conching" Romualdez, "Emy" and Mrs. Javier, "Marianito" and "Eloisa" Lichauco, "Peg" and "Dolly" Green, Ramon and "Loleng" Ordoveza, "Gene" and "Nina" Puyat, "Doc" Ayesa, "Art" and "Fely" V. Tanco, gave so much of their time to make the delegation's stay a very pleasant and memorable one. Before they break off the party motored to "Peg" Green's Forbes Park house for refreshing drinks.
