Letters to Manila Rotary and the editors : what they say about Marianito's book
In: Rotary Club of Manila. The Rotary Balita No. 775 to 799Summary: October 13, 1955 Mr. Mariano F. Lichauco 15th South 9th Street Diliman, Quezon City Dear "Marianito": Off and on, since receiving one of the first copies of your book, "1001 QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ON ROTARY," I have been referring to it as a source of information on anything about Rotary. Everytime I did this, I always found what I wanted. As a reference and guide for Rotary information your book is unexcelled in comprehensiveness. And you have arranged the material in a manner that makes reading and reference both easy and enjoyable. The great amount of work that you have put into this book will find its immense reward in the first service that you are rendering to everyone of your fellow-Rotarians who will have a chance to use it. This fine service of yours is not confined to the individual reader of your book, but it extends, I would say, to the whole Rotary movement. For it must be obvious that this great world movement for the building of better men and better citizens can only keep on advancing and remain potent through the unremitting efforts of true Rotarians to spread the light of Rotary to all Rotarians and to non-Rotarians in all parts of the world. Your example of true dedication to Rotary service is one to be emulated. I see in your opening paragraph of the "Foreword" this statement: "This book which I have entitled '1001 QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ON ROTARY' is being published as my personal contribution on Rotary Information to my club and to the 48th District on the occasion of the Golden Anniversary of Rotary International." The Rotary Club of Manila and the 48th District, I am sure, feel proud of this signal achievement of one of its most active and devoted Rotarians and 1 would sincerely recommend to the District Governor and to the Board of Directors of the Manila Club that official recognition and appreciation be given to this worthy contribution of yours to the Club and to the District. It would also be fitting, I believe, for the Manila Club to send one copy of the book officially to Rotary International as an accomplished project under its Rotary Information and Club Service, for the Golden Anniversary Year. Rotarily yours, [omitted]Item type | Current library | Call number | Status | Barcode | |
