"Dinny" Gunn, retired president and general manager of Heacock's, is leaving for the United States on June 21. A well-liked employer, Gunn was feted by his employees. Sorry to see you go, Dinny! On suggestion of our own Eduardo "Eddie" Taylor, general manager of Cebu Portland Cement Co., the economic coordinator authorized the importation of 10,000 bags of cement to relieve the shortage. "Tiving" Lovina, chairman of the ICC, was the speaker of the Capitol (Quezon City) Lions recently. The board of directors of the Philippine Chamber of Industries, a number of whom are Rotarians, recently conferred with Miguel Cuaderno, governor of the Central Bank, to exchange views on a number of questions affecting industries. Among those who conferred with the CB governor were Teofilo "Rex" Reyes and Sergio Bayan. The son of Juan "Juanito" Nakpil, Francisco, graduated as a master of arts in architecture in the Cranbrooke Academy of Art in Michigan. He was a topnotcher in the local architectures' test. Our "Pete" Teodoro, of Philprom, gave a talk on public relations before students taking up insurance at the People's Surety and Insurance Co.
