The Rotary Balita No. 749 to 774Summary: For the first time in the history of Rotary meetings, a First Lady was guest of honor at the club's regular luncheon-meeting last Dec. 2 at the Manila Hotel. Mrs. Luz Banzon-Magsaysay was the most charming honoree and expressed her gratitude in a few simple words for the Rotary donation to Malacañang's annual Christmas fund for indigent children. Helping their husbands entertain Mrs. Magsaysay were the Rotary Anns, for whose presence the luncheon-meeting was declared a special "ladies" day." The meeting, which was attended by a large group of U. S. servicemen, was also chosen by Gilbert M. Hunter, USO director in Manila, as occasion for thanking various city organizations of civic nature as well as civic-minded citizens for the hospitality extended to the servicemen. Other speakers of the day included former Rotary President Cornelio Balmaceda, who spoke on Rotary information service, and P. E.
